Monday March 15th a viewing scheduled for 0830 hrs at St Charles Borromeo Church located at 1731 Hulmeville Rd. Bensalem Pa. (cross streets of Rywal & Kings. Map page 3373H7). A Bensalem Paramedic died in the line of duty early last night while on a medical call. Our thoughts and prayers are with the medics family and with the BEMS. Rest in peace.

Tuesday saw another 5 call day for Trevose Fire Crews, they were three alarm systems, one accident stand-by and one oven fire, none of the calls were significant.

Rescue 4 with Engine 44 and Ladder 65 covered Sta. 16 while Rehab 4 responded  to a Dwelling Fire in the 37-18 box. companies were in service for several hours.

Trevose Fire Rescue was dispatched to three auto extrication's a rit call and a dwelling fire.

The first rescue was early this morning on Route 1 North bound just inside Philly. Rescue 4 assisted PFD 22 and NFD Eng 65 with stabilization and patient removal.

Second rescue was on the PA Turnpike. All units were staged later were recalled by the Medic unit on scene.

Third rescue was a two vehicle accident on Buselton Pike at County Line Rd. Engine 84 was first on scene and secured the hazards. No extrication was needed.

RIT call was for a assist in Eddington at Creekside Apts. Command held the assignment to one and one. Eng 84's services were not needed and returned.

Dwelling fire on Sterner Mill Rd at Street Road. Eng 84 and A4 on scene with light smoke inside found to be a small fire in a bathroom sink. FM 243 was called to this location for further investigation.

Staggering winter storm statistics show that 70 percent of winter storm deaths are automobile related. One-fourth of winter storm fatalities are the result of individuals being caught in the storm and more than 50 percent of these deaths are males.
Blinding wind-driven snow, extreme cold, icy roads, avalanches and downed trees and power lines can all accompany winter storms. Communication lines can be cut off, and access to emergency and medical services may be severely limited once extreme weather hits a region. It's important to know what to do before, during, and after a winter storm:

Battalion Chief Joe Casey and his wife Nicole welcomes Shaun Andrew Casey into the world. Shaun was born on February 9th @ 2:46 pm. He weights 9 lbs 2 oz and is 22 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great and joey is so proud to be a big brother finally.

Trevose Crews manned the Main Station from 6 pm Friday to 6 pm Saturday during the storm. In that time they ran 2  rescue covers at Sta 16, a building fire on Camer Dr with Rescue 4  and Rehab 4 and 3 QRS calls

Members put in almost 500 hours with 15 members participating

The Bensalem Fire Marshal's Office and Trevose Fire Company reached out to the community and residents responded, dropping off clothing, food, blankets, toys, a television and bicycles at the fire house on Street Road.

Arson Destroys Home

An arson fire on Carter Road in the Concord Park section of Trevose destroyed a home early Saturday morning, Engine 65 arrived first and led off with a deck gun and Engine 4-1 dropped  a supplyline to them, several master steams were in service. Crews later entered the structure to assist the Fire Marshal with the investigation, Rescue 2 was the RIT and Rescue 6 was called to assist, companies were in service for several hours. The Red Cross was called to assist the occupants. The fire is being investigated by the Bensalem Twp Fire Marshall's Office .


 
   
   
TANKER OVERTURNED

Trevose responds to an overturned gasoline tanker on Route 1 north on ramp from the PA Turnpike with extrication. Companies responded were E65 E4 R4 R9 helped with the extrication. Chief 65 set up command and called for other unites to help with a HazMat incident. E 88 hand stretched 1300ft of supply line from the Target store to supply Chemical 99. Also on scene HazMat 99, Burlington County HazMat and Medic 186 along with Canteen 4 for assistance. The tanker is holding nearly 8,000 gallons of gasoline in its tank.  Ramps Northbound and Southbound are closed to the PA Turnpike.
